The Canadian wine and spirits shop Kensington Wine Market from Calgary had released Kilchoman Single Cask bottlings very often in the past. In 2020, the 9th Kilchoman Single Cask was already released.

Kensington Wine Market is also the main sponsor of the annual MS Calgary Whisky Festival, which raises money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. Due to Corona, the 10th festival, scheduled for January 2021, could not take place and they were looking for another way to generate money for the Society. Andy Dunn of Kilchoman importer Gold Medal Marketing came up with the idea of a special Kilchoman bottling and Kilchoman owner Anthony Wills selected a very exclusive cask for it, an almost 15-year-old bourbon barrel, the oldest cask bottled for Canada to date. $25 from each bottle sold will be donated to the MS Society.
