After the Canadian retail liquor store Craft Cellars in Calgary released its first own Kilchoman single cask bottling with a 100% Islay Pedro Ximénez Cask in late summer 2020, one of the new and thus still quite rare Ruby Port Quarter Cask Releases by Kilchoman followed shortly afterwards.

The whisky has been initially matured in a fresh Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrel (No. 197/2013) for almost 7 years before being finished in a Ruby Port Quarter Cask for 6 months. As with all the Ruby Port Quarter Cask finishes, the very intense Port flavours resulting from the small Quarter Cask combined with the bourbon barrel notes of the original cask resulted in an extremely delicious whisky.
