The Fèis Ìle special edition of 2022, released at the Kilchoman Open Day on 2 June 2022, was the distillery’s first 16-year-old small batch bottling. It was a vatting of five fresh bourbon barrels from the distillery’s early days. The yield was 865 bottles, which were sold to visitors at the Kilchoman Open Day for £150 per bottle, limited to one bottle per person.

Shortly before, kilchomania.com had released the sister cask No. 05/2006, the first ever 16-year-old Kilchoman whisky, which was met with great enthusiasm.

Anthony Wills wrote about the Fèis Ìle release: “I always try and find something special for the Fèis Ìle releases and with the return of people to Fèis on Islay rather than exclusively online I thought the time was right to bottle some of our oldest casks. I´d love to keep these casks in the warehouse for my own personal consumption, but they are too good not to share”.
