From the end of 2018 to the end of 2023, Kilchoman offered local whisky retailers a product line for customised bottlings of its standard whisky with the “Machir Bay Collaborative Vatting”.

Unlike the normal Machir Bay Oloroso sherry cask content of approx. 10%, retailers could choose one of four different variants with slightly different proportions for the Collaborative Vattings: 5%, 7.5%, 12.5% and 15% sherry cask whisky. The boxes and bottles in the standard Machir Bay design were labelled with a customised sticker from the retailer.

The Whisky Shop in San Francisco released several MBCV bottlings. For the first release listed here, which appeared in 2018, a sherry content of 12.5% was chosen. This was followed in 2019 by a bottling with 5% sherry and, finally, in 2022, another bottling with a sherry cask content of 12.5%.
