For the renowned whisky fair 10th Whisky Magazine Live!, which took place in Tokyo in February 2010, a special Kilchoman single cask – a 3-year-old ex-bourbon barrel – was bottled at the end of 2009. This was the second Kilchoman single cask release for the Japanese market and only the third worldwide.

The bottle still has a banderole around the cork, as was customary for single cask releases from Kilchoman’s early days until the end of March 2010. It was not until May 2010 that bottles bottled by hand at Kilchoman were also fitted with a metal capsule. The label still features the slightly darker blue of the Kilchoman Inaugural Release from September 2009. From the Autumn 2009 Release in November 2009, all Kilchoman bottlings had a royal blue label for the next two years. Only nine early single cask bottlings, such as the one listed here, still used the old dark blue labels.
