This Kilchoman single cask release was bottled in September 2022 for the Japanese food chain Shinanoya. It was preceded by a whisky seminar for Shinanoya with Japanese Kilchoman brand ambassador Hidetoshi Maekawa, during which several samples were tasted. Hidetoshi Maekawa then selected the cask listed here for Shinanoya in collaboration with the Japanese Kilchoman importer Whisk-e Ltd.

The whisky was first matured for over nine years in an ex-bourbon barrel and then finished for a year in a Sauternes wine cask.
