The rich Chinese mythology has already been made the subject of specially designed single cask bottlings by the Taiwanese Kilchoman importer a few times. At the beginning of 2022, two Kilchoman Sauternes Finish releases appeared in Taiwan, dedicated to the myth of the sword lion, which is especially cultivated in the Anping District of the Taiwanese city of Tainan. The sword lion is depicted on numerous houses as a sort of protective sign. If the sword lion holds the sword in his left hand (as shown in cask no. 711/2014), its a ward off evil; if he holds the sword in his right hand (as in the bottling listed here), this symbolises a prayer.

The two bottlings differed by just under a year in maturing time (just under 8 years and just under 7 years), allowing a nice comparison of two Sauternes finishings.
