Anthony Wills on a Promotional Tour in Japan and Taiwan

The exclusive Whisky Live! bottling from Bourbon Barrel No. 348/2006

Anthony Wills travelled to Japan on 18 February 2010 to take part in the whisky fair ‘Whisky Live! Japan’ and to support the Kilchoman importer Whisk-e Ltd at various other events.

On Sunday 21 February, Anthony attended ‘Whisky Live!’ in Tokyo, which attracted over 5,500 visitors throughout the day, and held two masterclasses there. Over 100 people joined each masterclass. The tastings included New Make Spirit, a 3-year-old Single Bourbon Cask bottled exclusively for the fair, a 3-year-old Single Bourbon Cask (bottled for the Isetan department stores), a 3-year-old Oloroso Sherry Hogshead and the Autumn 2009 Release.
Kilchoman was the only distillery to hold two masterclasses, as demand in the run-up to the event had been extremely high.

Early on Tuesday morning, 23 February, Anthony and his Japanese companions travelled south from Tokyo to Osaka on the Shinkansen.
There were 500 visitors at the whisky fair held there, and Anthony held another seminar for over 100 participants and presented the Autumn 2009 Release.

A few days before the Whisky Live! release, Kilchoman had had Bourbon Barrel No. 362/2006 bottled for ISETAN

On Wednesday, Anthony and company travelled west to Okayama for another whisky fair and then back to Tokyo, before Anthony boarded a flight to Taipei (Taiwan) on Thursday to present the Autumn 2009 Release at an event for the press and specialist retailers organised by Kilchoman’s newly appointed importer, Sun Favorite & Co Ltd.
