Kilchoman Cask No. 07/2005

As is well known, after new make spirit flowed from the Kilchoman stills for the first time on 9 November 2005, the first seven casks in the distillery’s history were filled on 14 December 2005. Two of the seven refill bourbon barrels, No. 01/2005 and No. 07/2005, are owned by Kilchoman; the other five were private casks belonging to Kilchoman investors. Neither of the two Kilchoman casks has been bottled to date, making them the oldest casks currently maturing in the Kilchoman warehouses.

On four occasions in Kilchoman’s history, a single bottle has been bottled from the distillery’s first cask, numbered 01/2005, and auctioned off for a good cause.

In autumn 2024, a bottle aged over 18 years from cask No. 07/2005 was auctioned for the first time on the French auction site Fine Spirits Auction; Kilchoman had made this bottle available to support the organisations Foundation GoodPlanet and Foundation Prince Albert II de Monaco.

The bottle, presented in an attractive wooden box and accompanied by a certificate from Kilchoman founder Anthony Wills, fetched a price of €1,050 when the auction closed on 4 October.

Guests at the Kilchoman Gala Dinner, held on 6 September 2025 to mark the distillery’s 20th anniversary, received a small 10cl sample bottle from cask no. 07/2005 as a small gift.
