On 27 May 2010, the Kilchoman Open Day of the Islay Festival Fèis Ìle 2010, the distillery released an exclusive Fèis Ìle release for the first time. It was the Single Cask bottling of Bourbon Barrel 113/2007, distilled on 22.5.2007 and bottled on 22.5.2010. So the whisky was exactly 3 years old. Some visitors queued for several hours to get their hands on one of the 258 bottles.
This was the only time Kilchoman released a single cask bottling for Fèis Ìle; all subsequent releases were small batches, mainly to enable a higher edition due to high demand.
The label still features the slightly darker blue of the Kilchoman Inaugural Release from September 2009. From the Autumn 2009 Release in November 2009, all Kilchoman bottlings had a royal blue label for the next two years. Only nine early single cask bottlings, this one being the sixth single cask release in Kilchoman’s history, still featured the old dark blue labels.
There are two different alcohol content figures on the bottle and the back of the box: the handwritten label on the bottle states 62.2%, while the back of the box states 61.8% abv.
