Kilchoman Machir Bay & Sanaig Private Vattings for Poland

Polish Kilchoman importer M&P Pavlina has now released two special editions of the two standard Kilchoman whiskies: Machir Bay Private Vatting and Sanaig Private Vatting. These are characterised by different bourbon-sherry ratios in the vatting. In the Machir Bay Private Vatting, instead of the usual 90% bourbon and 10% Oloroso sherry cask influence, you can now taste 80% bourbon and 20% sherry influence, while in the Sanaig Private Vatting, instead of 70% sherry and 30% bourbon cask influence, you now get 60% sherry and 40% bourbon.

From 2018 to 2023, Kilchoman had already offered local whisky merchants the opportunity to create customised bottlings with the ‘Machir Bay Collaborative Vattings’, which allowed them to choose a variant that differed from the normal Machir Bay Oloroso sherry cask proportion of approx. 10% with either 5%, 7.5%, 12.5% or 15% sherry cask whisky. As we reported a few days ago in Sanaig Private Vatting for Germany, Kilchoman is now allowing national importers to distribute similar customised bottlings under the names Machir Bay Private Vatting and Sanaig Private Vatting on a case-by-case basis following the discontinuation of this product line.
