Journey´s Blend – Triumph & Royal Enfield

This bottling of a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is the result of a five-day motorbike trip undertaken by the editor of Whisky Magazine, Rob Allanson, archaeologist and photographer Ken Hamilton and Tom Morton from the BBC in June 2009. The trio travelled on motorbikes provided by the well-known brands Triumph and Royal Enfield. They collected whisky samples from the most northern, southern, eastern, western and central distilleries in Scotland.

At the final stop – the Glenturret distillery – the trio met with Edrington Group Master Blender John Ramsay to create the final blended malt.

The resulting whisky, Journey’s Blend, is a blend of malt whiskies from:

  • Kilchoman – 5% (3 yo Refill Bourbon Barrel from 2006)
  • Bladnoch – 30% (18 yo Refill Bourbon Hogshead from 1990)
  • Glen Garioch – 10% (Refill Oloroso Sherryfass from 2000)
  • Highland Park – 30% (Refill Oloroso Sherryfass from 1997)
  • Glenturret – 25% (Refill Oloroso Sherry Butt from 1991)

Only 50 elaborately engraved bottles of the “Journey’s Blend” whisky were sold in a presentation box with a signed copy of the tour book. These were available either directly from Whisky Magazine or at some Whisky Live festivals in 2009.
