Prior to the release of the distillery’s first whisky on 9.9.2009, a dozen single cask bottlings with Kilchoman distillate matured in bourbon casks were released in 2008 and 2009, which – because they were under 3 years old – were not yet allowed to carry the title “whisky”. Most of them appeared with a uniform printed label under the title Kilchoman New Spirit matured for over 2 years – “Anticipation”. In addition, in the early years of the distillery, a whole series of un-matured New Make releases appeared in miniature bottles.

Unlike the Anticipation releases, the bottling listed here is only a little over one year old and has a hand-lettered label. There has obviously been a mistake in the labelling: the correct cask filling date would be 28.2.2007 not 18.7.2007.
