At the beginning of 2016, the US importer ImpEx Beverages launched its so-called ‘Cask Evolution Series’, which was designed to showcase the cask maturation of Kilchoman whisky using different cask types and different ages.

The first release, in January 2016, featured a whisky that had been matured for over four years in an Oloroso sherry hogshead.
