In addition to a 100% Islay release in its renowned Cask Evolution Series (No. 03/2024), US importer ImpEx Beverages had another “Single Farm Single Malt” bottled in 2024 for the well-known Bar Agricole in San Francisco.

Distilled in 2016 from the farm’s own barley and produced entirely at Kilchoman ‘from barley to bottle’, the whisky was matured for almost 8 years in an ex-Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel.

This was one of the world’s first bottlings made from the Concerto barley variety, which has been grown at Kilchoman since 2015. Concerto gives Kilchoman whiskies a noticeably different fruitiness than earlier bottlings made from the barley varieties Optic and Publican (more grassy and hay notes), which is particularly evident when matured in bourbon barrels.
