Kilchoman Tasting Tour in Germany announced
German Kilchoman importer Alba Import has announced that it will be holding a tasting tour at German whisky retailers from 21 to 25 October 2013. Led by Kilchoman Distillery Manager John MacLellan, the tasting will include the standard release Machir Bay as well as the limited editions Loch Gorm, 100% Islay and the new Vintage 2007 Release.
Alba Import has released a small batch bottling exclusively for the tasting tour. Together with John MacLellan, three five-year-old fresh ex-bourbon casks were selected and blended for the bottling named ‘Small Batch for Germany’. The whisky was then finished for three months in Oloroso sherry butts.
It was bottled at 59.4 per cent cask strength, without chill filtration or added colouring. The edition consists of 780 bottles.
Distillery manager John MacLellan will present the exclusive bottling alongside other Kilchoman releases and provide background information and stories from the distillery. Visitors will also have the opportunity to talk to John MacLellan in person.
