Kilchoman Rum Cask Matured Single Cask 18/729 for Weinhaus Hilgering

Bottlings from the Rum cask are among the rarer releases from Kilchoman. And, remarkably, there has not been a single limited edition from this type of cask to date. This is undoubtedly due, first and foremost, to the fact that Anthony Wills has not, until now, been satisfied with the maturation of Kilchoman whisky in the casks at his disposal.

Weinhaus Hilgering in Dortmund has now released a rum cask whisky aged for over 7 years (from a Martinique rum cask). This is not only the oldest Kilchoman rum cask release to date, but also only the second full maturation (all other bottlings were finishings). We are therefore very curious to see whether this bottling will open a new chapter in the somewhat complicated history of Kilchoman distillate in rum casks.
