In October 2023, the French spirits retailer and Kilchoman importer La Maison Du Whisky published a catalogue of exclusive LMDW bottlings of whisky, rum and other spirits under the title New Vibrations, as it has done every autumn for the past few years.
This catalogue also included some particularly interesting new Kilchoman bottlings. With four different 100% Islay whiskies, LMDW demonstrated the influence of different fermentation times and different phenol levels. The collection included two 8-year-old whiskies with shorter (75 hours) and longer (100 hours) fermentation than the 85 hours that are standard at Kilchoman today, as well as two 12-year-old bottlings made from unpeated malt and from peated malt with a Phenol level of approx. 20 ppm.

The bottling listed here is the variant with a shorter fermentation time of around 75 hours. Made from barley grown on Rockside Farm in 2013, the whisky was matured for nearly nine years in an ex-Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel.
