New Bottling for the Islay Pipe Band: Kilchoman PX Sherry Cask Finish 681/2010

As we have reported on several occasions, the Kilchoman distillery has been a sponsor of the Islay Pipe Band since 2012. Since 2013, the sponsorship has taken the form of a cask of whisky selected by John MacLellan to be bottled and sold at the distillery, with all proceeds going to the Pipe Band.

Now the third Islay Pipe Band release has been announced. This year’s Islay Pipe Band Single Cask is a 1st fill ex-bourbon barrel from 2010, the whisky was initially matured in it for four years and then finished in a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask for two months.

The bottles will be sold exclusively at the distillery’s visitor centre from Monday 18 May. Due to the nature of the bottling, Kilchoman will only accept cash payments at the distillery shop.
