This 100% Islay PX Sherry full maturation for the Californian wine and spirits shop El Cerrito Liquor and Exec’s Whiskey Club was released at the end of January 2022.

This bottling is another in a series of about a dozen releases consisting of Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads filled on May 27, 2015, with 100% Islay spirit. All were bottled after 5 to 6 years of maturation, giving Kilchoman enthusiasts their first opportunity to taste fully PX-matured whiskies made from 100% Islay spirit.
Kilchoman typically fills its whisky—distilled from barley grown on its own farm—primarily in Bourbon barrels and also in Oloroso sherry casks. Other types of casks are rather rare among the 100% Islay releases.
