In December 2023, Taiwanese Kilchoman importer Richward International released a series of four Kilchoman single cask bottlings dedicated to the Taiwanese cities of Taichung, Tainan, Taitung and New Taipei. The specially designed labels each featured a landmark of the respective city.

The bottling for Tainan mentioned here is a Sauternes Cask Finish. The whisky was initially matured for more than six years in an ex-bourbon barrel and was then finished for almost two years in a Sauternes wine cask.

When we think of Tainan, food should be the first thing that comes to mind. Apart from food, Tainan is also the city with the highest density of monuments in Taiwan, and one of the most famous is the Chihkan Tower, which dates back to a fortress (Fort Provintia) built by the Dutch in 1653. It therefore also adorns the label of the Kilchoman bottling.
