Uniquely Islay Series – An Samhradh 2021 announced

After the record figures of 2020 – in which Germany had by far the most single cask releases of any Kilchoman market in 2020 and almost every fifth Kilchoman single cask was bottled for Germany – it had become quite quiet on the German market. For almost 9 month not one Kilchoman Single Cask release appeared in Germany, which was probably partly due to the more expensive and complicated import conditions caused by the Brexit. Now the German Kilchoman importer Hanseatische Weinhandelsgesellschaft Bremen announced a new series of nine single cask releases for the German market, the third Uniquely Islay Series.

After Uniquely Islay – An t-Earrach 2020, released in spring 2020 with 9 bottlings and Uniquely Islay – An Geamhradh 2020, released in December 2020 with seven single cask bottlings, now follows Uniquely Islay – An Samhradh 2021, again with nine new releases.
And one can already say before tasting that this is clearly the most interesting of the three Uniquely Islay series. Thus, for the first time for the German market, both a tequila and a mezcal finish bottling are included, both Kilchoman novelties of the 2nd half of last year. A Kilchoman world novelty is the finish of two bourbon barrels in a 400l Armagnac cask, which we are already very excited about! A Calvados, a Sauternes and a Madeira Finish are represented in the series as well as another PX full maturation from 100% Islay spirit. In addition, there are two cleverly selected bourbon cask bottlings from 2008 and 2015 respectively, giving Kilchoman aficionados the opportunity to compare an older and a still relatively young bourbon cask maturation.

Here are the details of the individual bottlings:
