New Kilchoman Single Cask Series: The Comparison Series

A few days ago, Kilchoman launched a new series of single cask bottlings for the British market.
“The Comparison Series” is based on the concept of giving Kilchoman lovers the opportunity to compare two very similar casks with one noticeable difference, for example different barley varieties, different peating levels, different length finishes, etc.
An extremely interesting concept that promises many taste experiences for the future!

Two fresh bourbon barrels from November 2012 wer selected for the just released Batch No. 1. Cask 719/2012 was distilled in 2012 using the 2011 harvest of publican malt grown at the distillery, peated to 20 ppm (“100% Islay”). Cask No. 726/2012 was distilled from Port Ellen malt, peated to a level of 50 ppm. The barley has been distilled in the same way before being matured and bottled at cask strength in the distillery.
So with two casks of the same age and cask type, you have the opportunity to directly compare the two main Kilchoman peating levels.

We are already looking forward to the upcoming batches!
