New Uniquely Islay Series for Germany announced: An t-Earrach 2022

After Uniquely Islay – An t-Earrach 2020, Uniquely Islay – An Geamhradh 2020 and Uniquely Islay – An Samhradh 2021, the German Kilchoman importer Hanseatische Weinhandelsgesellschaft Bremen announced the now already fourth Uniquely Islay Series – An t-Earrach 2022.

The series of ten single cask bottlings this time again offers a cross-section of the Kilchoman portfolio. The buyer can choose from bourbon barrels, oloroso sherry casks and a variety of maturations in more exotic cask styles.

The most interesting bottling this time might be the 100% Islay Calvados finish. Calvados finishings are still very rare, and in the less peated 100% Islay variant made from the farm’s own barley, they have not yet been tasted at all. Kilchoman matures the 100% Islay whisky predominantly in bourbon barrels and sometimes in sherry casks; it is extremely rare to find it in other types of casks.

The still rare tequila and mezcal finish bottlings are also likely to meet with great interest, as is the Pedro Ximénez sherry full maturation. STR and Sauternes bottlings are sure to have a following among Kilchoman lovers anyway.
