Kilchoman 16 yo Limited Edition veröffentlicht

Kilchoman verkündete heute auf ihrer Website stolz das Erscheinen einer 16jährigen Limited Release. Dies ist nicht nur die erste Limited Release mit einer offiziellen Altersangabe sondern die bislang älteste weltweit vertriebene Abfüllung der Destillerie.

Um einen nach eigenen Worten „perfekt ausgewogenen Single Malt“ zu erzielen und so mit einer neuen „Benchmark-Release“ ein Zwischenfazit von über 16 Jahren Kilchoman-Entwicklung zu geben, wählten Anthony Wills und Robin Bignal 21 in den Jahren 2006 und 2007 befüllte Fässer aus und verheirateten sie miteinander. Es handelt sich dabei genau um 20 Bourbon Barrels und ein 2006er Oloroso Sherry Butt.

Kilchoman Gründer Anthony Wills schrieb dazu: “This is a landmark release for the distillery, the oldest global bottling we have done to date at 16 years of age.  I look forward to Kilchoman fans around the world tasting this outstanding whisky and experience the evolving character of our single malt.”

Offizielle Tasting Notes:

Nose: Delightfully rich with a creamy citrus sweetness and layers of cooked apples, pears, plums and nutmeg.

Palate: A masterful balance of festives spices, fresh vanila, tropical fruit and smuldering peat smoke.

Finish: Dried mango and apricots with bbq smoke and lasting mouth-coating honey sweetness.

Die Flaschen sollen ab dieser Woche weltweit erhältlich sein, in Deutschland werden sie für ca. 220 Euro angeboten.
